Meet Jill Michell

She’s a painter, teacher, and friend who shares my love of herding dogs and Henry David Thoreau. A few years ago, she took up plein air painting and began posting some of her work on Instagram, where she built up a vocal following of people who wanted to know when we could hang her work in our own homes. She put us off for a long time, but after much persuasion, she finally had an open house at her studio. She worried no one would come, but by the end of the day, she’d nearly sold out of a whole summer’s worth of work.

Clearly, it was time for a website. But how do you design one for an artist who loves the interaction of Instagram but never wants to bother with a blog or worse–woocommerce? I think we’ve found the solution over at JillMichell.com, which is now live and suitable for framing.
